The staff of Neighborhood Friends is the union of two families with over 10 years of
self-experience in child-care, children’s educational preparation and interactions with families
of different backgrounds throughout this time. Our families came together when we found the
need to provide a different type of care and we created what we call a ‘safety circle” for the
children in our care.

Neighborhood Friends uses play to promote a child’s development in a multi-faceted way;
through play, we explore physical, sensory and mental development, affective creativity and
imagination. Creative Play helps babies and young children learn about their bodies and
develops cooperative habits. These tools help children explore the world around them and
supports their experience at each developmental stage in a playful and fun way while they
learn: to socialize, good sportsmanship skills, to create, make decisions, problem solve and

All of our teachers have CPR training and are certified by the CDA and the NY Department of Health.
